Outreach
&
Social Impact

Crops not shops is a social justice project that aims to postitvely impact as many people as possible.

We take our mission to the streets where on Saturday's we go into Glastonbury high street to give out fresh veg and feed over 150 free meals for people who might be hungry or need to talk with someone.

We are partnered with a few mental health organizations to run weekly
meet-ups for those struggling with their mental health to get them working
with the soil and to learn how to grow their own food. The greatest proven anti-depressant is the micro bacterium vicae in the earth.

We have exciting partnerships coming up with the land workers alliance
and the big issue. We aim to get rough sleepers off the streets and into career pathways, starting with horticulture training, food preparation and
nutritional based knowledge.

Whatever we sell,  we give away  the same amount of food our partnership with Mamma Village Avalon means that tonnes makes it way to pregnant and breastfeeding mamma's. This is crucial as oftentimes when we are buying produce from supermarkets it has been sprayed with pesticides and the quality of our soil isn't what it would have been 20+ years ago,  the way we grow our produce means it remains nutrient rich. This is EXACTLY what mamma's, infants, toddlers and teenagers alike need to thrive.

We are also avid guerrilla gardeners, we love to rebelliously plant up
neglected public spaces to change them into thriving eco systems for
people and wildlife to enjoy.
